The impacts on the environment generated by Fabbri 1905's activities are mainly due to the use of fuel and electricity necessary to carry out production activities, as well as transportation and distribution along the value chain.

Over the last thirty years, our cumulative energy savings have reached 20% thanks to changes made to the steam distribution system in production facilities.

Fabbri 1905 has undertaken a renovation project aimed at reducing heat loss, adopting low-energy consumption lighting systems and a central air-conditioning system in line with the recommendations of the signatories of the Kyoto Protocol.

Fabbri 1905’s atmospheric emissions are mostly related to facilities for the storage and transportation of sugar and other non-hazardous powdered foodstuffs. These emissions are constantly monitored, and a filter system prevents the uncontrolled release of these particulates into the atmosphere.

Thanks to a post-combustion capture system, these gases and particulates are transformed into water vapour, carbon dioxide, and other non-toxic gases. Additionally, to limit the spread of unpleasant odours created by the water-purification process, Fabbri 1905 has installed a deodorization structure: a filtering bed of plant material, containing microorganisms that feed on the compounds that produce odours and transform them into other, odourless substances.

Fabbri believes that the circular economy is of great importance to ensure the long-term environmental, social and economic sustainability of the company. Given this conviction, a number of initiatives have been launched over time in order to reuse discarded production waste, reduce waste of resources, and generally reduce consumption through practices capable of increasing the circularity of the company and its products.

In line with the current market trend, Fabbri 1905 is paying special attention to packaging, which is essential to protect and preserve food products during transport, distribution and storage, but which can generate significant amounts of waste.

In fact, it has decided to replace the glass bottles of the syrups with PET bottles, which represent a completely recoverable packaging, which can be disposed of in plastic waste together with the cap and the label. But it doesn't stop there and is evaluating other initiatives for the reuse of PET waste, carrying out, with the support of its internal teams, purchase trials of bottles made from recycled material.

But the real recycling of its packaging is hidden in the reuse of its unique and inimitable Fabbri jar which can become a pen holder, a candle, a flower pot or a new container for other products.

All waste produced by Fabbri 1905 is recovered or recycled by authorized specialist companies in the field. Packaging waste of paper/cardboard/plastic/wood/glass and metal is used to create new packaging or other objects.

Food waste is sent to facilities that process it to produce bio-gas, a source of clean energy. None of the waste produced by Fabbri 1905 is sent to landfills.
