A heady mix of Italian bitter liqueur and the unmistakably rounded flavour of Amarena Fabbri, enhanced with notes of citrus, is the distinctive trait of Marendry, the label with which Fabbri 1905 has returned (literally) to its origins, while updating this liqueur for modern times.
Founded in Bologna in 1905 as “Premiata Distilleria G. Fabbri”, the company, now famous for its Amarena, started out making great liqueurs such as Primo Maggio and Amaro Carducci. Today, Fabbri is making a return to this market by relaunching Marendry, a liqueur they had not produced since the 1970s, celebrating its return with an elegantly updated label with a vintage flair. The cherry-red Marendry contains no artificial flavours or colours and has an ABV of just 21 per cent; the liqueur is a testament to Fabbri’s commitment to promoting the responsible enjoyment of authentic Italian drinks and beverages.
The old moulds for the original Marendry bottles were lost over the years, but the new bottle, with its classic yet modern label, testifies to the natural evolution of a beverage that had left its mark on Italian culture and which has been brought back as if it had never gone out of production.
